SENSE organizes an annual programme of events. The professional development events call on the knowledge and experience of the society’s seasoned members – including such luminaries in the field as Mike Hannay and Joy Burrough-Boenisch – as well as the expertise of guest speakers – such as English lexicographer Susie Dent and Emma Wagner from the European Commission’s Translation Service. Rounding off the serious events is a lighter programme of social functions for everyone in the widely dispersed community of SENSE. All events and functions are open to members on a first-come basis. Non-members may apply to attend events two weeks after registration has been opened to members.
