  undergoing major changes\, largely due to the advent of Generative AI. It
 ’s affecting the whole profession\, from editors to translators and from c
 opywriters to proofreaders: Gen AI claims to have solutions for everyone\,
  and many clients think they can manage without trained language professio
 nals: we’ve all seen the results\, some acceptable\, some make us laugh.\n
 It's quite easy to spot texts written or translated by AI. People who don’
 t know any better think these texts are ‘good to go’ and don’t even ask a 
 professional linguist or native speaker to take a look. But we know that A
 I generated texts are repetitive\, bland\, and lack creative appeal\, and 
 that Gen AI translations are often inaccurate and inconsistent.\nOn the ot
 her hand\, some Gen AI tools can save us time\, just as our favourite edit
 ing and translation tools do. Despite these developments\, there is still 
 a huge market for us language professionals.\nThis mini workshop is design
 ed for all language professionals at any stage of their career who want to
  survive and thrive in the age of Gen AI. We’ll look at the skills and qua
 lities that language professionals need and the practical exercises will h
 elp you start adapting your working practices and business model. You will

 xt\nJenny is a native speaker of English and professional translator\, cop
 ywriter and revisor with more than 25 years’ experience with multinational
  businesses in the Netherlands and Belgium. Before becoming a full-time la
 nguage professional\, she spent more than 17 years at a firm of Management
  Consultants\, working in the UK\, US\, Belgium and the Netherlands. She s
 pecialised in implementing IT projects and logistics. She moved to the Net
 herlands about 40 years ago and considers herself bi-lingual.\nShe likes t
 o travel and to attend professional events. This has expanded her horizons
  both personally and professionally\, and given her an extensive network o
 f colleagues. She likes to share her knowledge and experiences which has p
 rompted her to speak and give workshops.\nIn her spare time she likes to p
