  with degrees in genetics from Cardiff and Sheffield universities.\nShe is
  on the editorial board of the journal Bioethica and since 2016 has been a
 n external ethics expert in the European Commission.\nHer talk will be bas

 ow should authors and editors act in such a case? Are there any policies i
 n place to ensure the integrity of the peer review process? Are policies e
 nough to address these issues? These issues were highlighted in my recent 
 article in Research Ethics.\n \nI will try to answer these questions and p
 ropose concrete steps to protect the integrity of the peer review process.
