  topic for this meeting of the SENSE Ed SIG is Correction.\nMarking papers
  causes headaches for teachers on many different levels. Very often we hav
 e to adapt to marking systems imposed by the institution we work for that 
 don’t seem to make much sense. Things get even more complicated when we ar
 e teaching a course alongside other teachers. Sometimes we don’t even have
  contact with some of them\, yet we are still expected to do our marking i
 n a way similar to what they would do. How reliable are the marking system
 s that educational institutions devise for their teachers?\nAt this sessio
 n\, we’re going to put two such systems to the test. We will evaluate two 
 student-written assignments and grade them according to the rubrics suppli
 ed for that purpose. How similar will our results be? And\, perhaps even m
 ore interestingly\, do we feel that that the guidelines established by the
  department really give an accurate and fair reflection of students’ accom
 plishments?\nPlease feel free to bring any examples of papers that you hav
 e found difficult to mark in the past\, for whatever reason. Also\, if you
