 e is the in-house editor at the Department of Genetics of the University M
 edical Center Groningen\, where she works closely with researchers across 
 the entire research cycle\, from proposal to post-publication outreach. Sh
 e also teaches scientific writing\, including rules and responsibilities s
 urrounding use of AI. In her previous careers\, Kate has been a children’s
  book author (De Knikkelares\, Uitgeverij Lemniscaat 2013) and a Paleocean
 ographer (PhD UC Santa Cruz 1998\, followed by postdoctoral research posit
 ions at UC Santa Barbara and the California Institute of Technology).\nKat
