Speaker: Mike Hannay, Emeritus Professor of English Linguistics and Director of the Academic Language Programme at VU Amsterdam

Topic: Feedback using Markin 

Professor Hannay will talk about Markin, the system used at the Vrije Universiteit to give students feedback on their English writing. He will explain the system and introduce a set of positive feedback categories based on a translation of assessment criteria into concrete linguistic features.

As usual, after the meeting there will be an opportunity to network over drinks in the bar (at your own expense).
