 as established in 1661. She is Professor Tatyana Yakhontova. In her own wo
 rds:'Tatyana Yakhontova is Professor of English and Linguistics at Ivan Fr
 anko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). Her interests focus on researc
 h communication and English academic writing. She was one of the founders 
 of the first Center for English academic writing in Ukraine (established a
 t her home institution) and its Director in 2010-2018. She has authored tw
 o textbooks on English academic writing.In her talk\, Tatyana will first s
 peak about traditional Ukrainian approaches to writing and editing both in
  native and English languages and show how they are gradually changing in 
 Ukraine under the influence of Anglophone global context. She will also ex
 plain why copy editing of Ukrainian academic texts still remains of partic
 ular importance while its applicability to their English counterparts rema
 ins much more limited. Then she will describe the most popular forms of En
 glish writing support – training sessions\, summer schools\, and certifica
 tion programs – available to Ukrainian academics and share her experience 
 of developing and delivering English and bilingual academic writing course
