Personal Finance for Interpreters and Translators

In this webinar, Jason Willis-Lee will discuss a long-term investment programme aimed to get you thinking about your retirement sooner rather than later. For a long time now he has been reading articles and books about money, personal finance and investing. Most of this reading came from a desire not to repeat unforgivable money blunders of the past and to educate himself about the ins and outs of the world of money. At times a taboo topic, he grew up in a climate where heads were physically bowed if the “M” word dared to be mentioned. He now dispels such toxic and ultimately harmful money beliefs and tries and instigates a healthier relationship with money always from the point of view of guilt-free spending and long-term investment for the future.

Jason Willis-Lee, MITI graduated in physiology after training as a doctor for over three years at Bristol Medical School (UK) including one year’s full hospital training. He put in a brief stint as a clinical research associate before switching into applied linguistics and earning a postgraduate diploma in translating and interpreting from the University of Bath. He now lives and works full time in Madrid as a self-employed medical and pharmaceutical translator (clinical trials, medical reports and academic research articles) in the Spanish-English (ITI certified) and French-English language pairs. He has previously given subject specific webinars and workshops for medical translators on the topics Blood Tests, the ECG, Diabetes and Cancer. He organised the specialisation conference thread at the Elia Together conference for freelancers and LSPs held in Athens in February 2018.
