EASE is delighted to announce that it will host a virtual conference on Friday, 12 June 2020 on the theme:
‘editors and editing in times of crisis’

The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted most of the world, not only endangering lives and livelihoods but also raising issues over scientific reporting and credibility. The role of the editor in the transmission of credible, reliable, and quality-assured science has never been greater.

In response to this situation, and after the postponement of our Valencia conference, now moved to 2021, we are delighted to provide our members with a virtual conference. This conference will consider the impact of crisis situations on scholarly and science editors. We will be asking what have we learned, and what lessons can we take away to help us in the future?

The programme has been developed to be as interactive as possible, so that experiences of editors can be shared, and the views of members exchanged.

When? Friday 12 June 2020, 9am-1:30pm GMT (10am-2:30pm CET)

How? Zoom web conference and Zoom meetings. (If you don’t use Zoom yet, find out more and sign up for a free account here).

Format? 4 sessions with breaks. The sessions comprise presentation, interview, panel discussion, formal debate, as well as break-out discussion sessions for small group discussions.

Cost? This conference is free to EASE members. Not a member but would like to register? Become a member (half-year rate available) by contacting secretary@ease.org.uk

Can’t join us? We will make video recordings of the plenary sessions freely and publicly available on our YouTube channel and our website after the conference.
