As language professionals, we often struggle with where to draw the line when working on a text.
For example, can we add, remove or change key content based on our own knowledge of the topic? Does it depend on the client, their budget, the type of text, a looming deadline, our training, experience and expertise? How much – or how little – we are comfortable changing the message can also impact how much – or how little – we can charge. How much input does (or should) the client have in determining where to draw the line? Can this line be moved in the middle of the project?
In this panel discussion, we’ll cover these issues and more.
