The first half of the meeting will provide the opportunity for members to report on recent achievements, war stories and interesting career developments, and the second half will be a discussion.

The topic for April's meeting will be 'Acquisition', a perennially useful topic for both new and experienced word-workers. Members are invited to bring along their own tips and experiences. Some potential areas for consideration:

• advertising - how/where, and which venues have proved useful (or not)?
• cold calling/solicitation
• networking (including social media)
• the role of 'word of mouth' advertising in getting work.
