3 July 2013: Utrecht SIG meeting

Date: 3 July 2013

Time: 20:00

Location: Helene Reid, Vrouwe Justitiaplein 27 in Utrecht, a very short walk from Centraal Station.

Contact: Anne Hogkinson

In July, we will be looking at a text by a nun, Suster Bertken, who had herself bricked in to a cell in an Utrecht church for 30 years until her death in 1427. She regularly had visions and wrote about them as well as her relation to the world. But it gets even more esoteric! ...drum roll please... Suster Bertken is the subject of a new opera. So we need a singable English translation of the libretto (we'll only do a short excerpt of course), which includes some of her writings.
