About the entertainment

This year’s entertainment will be provided by world-renowned illusionist Tilman AndrisTilman Andris. An Oxford-trained philosopher and a "slave of the truth", he will have you questioning your own senses when he assumes the role of deceiver and magician, performing magic close-up throughout the evening as well as presenting his signature stage act between courses. At the intersection of conjuring, theatre and storytelling, Tilman Andris has found a form for presenting magic that will make you look at "classic" tricks with new eyes.

Maarten Doorman, art critic for De Volkskrant, wrote about Tilman’s act:  “Whoever thinks that he knows what he sees and that things are as they seem should watch a performance by magician Tilman Andris. No cheap amusement here, but a feeling of astonishment that will stay with you for a long time to come.”

Tilman Andris studied philosophy in Leiden and Oxford, but became a professional magician after graduation. In 2010 his stage act was one of the highlights of the "Circus of Thoughts" in Royal Theatre Carré. In 2013 he gave a TEDx-presentation about trust as seen from the perspective of the deceiver.
