 We will start off with a general discussion about what sets literary translation apart from other forms of translation, and the perception about it being a 'closed' area to which few seem to gain entry. After that we will move onto more specific examples that mark literary translation as different, such as those interesting untranslatable words and phrases that leave us all scratching our heads. Also on the agenda (if we have time) are the possibilities for the coming year. We already have one translation session lined up for spring, and it would be good to plan an editing session too. Other potential topics include the implications of e-publishing for literary translators and editors. Please feel free to make suggestions about any other topics you would find interesting!
