20th SENSE jubilee gala evening

Social function: Annual dinner

Guest speaker: Susie Dent

Date: 13 November 2010

Guests welcome!

2010 is an important year for SENSE. This year our society has been in existence for no fewer than 20 years and so we are planning to celebrate this milestone in a fitting manner. The 10th and 15th SENSE jubilees were landmarks in the history of our society and evoked an enthusiastic response. The EC has therefore decided to build on our tradition of marking SENSE jubilees in a truly memorable way.

The celebrations are taking place in the Koepelkerk event centre of the Amsterdam Renaissance Hotel on the evening of Saturday, 13th November 2010, so please reserve this date in your diary. The evening, open to SENSE members and guests, starts at 5.30 p.m. and lasts until 11 p.m.

The 20th jubilee gala evening will open with a reception with sparkling wine and canapés, giving you the opportunity to network and catch up with colleagues. Our guest speaker will be Susie Dent, the prominent UK author, lexicographer and broadcaster, who will talk about how new words enter the English language. After this a four-course gourmet menu will be served, with between the courses a mini concert of Baroque music, readings from SENSE’s own poets, and contributions from the EC and SENSE members. Like other SENSE annual social events this jubilee dinner is an open event so you are very welcome to bring partners, family or friends as guests.

Don't delay in reserving your tickets. To make a reservation now, go to the 20th Jubilee Booking Form. The cost is 80 euros per person.
