20 March 2009: Jargon Busting Workshop

In SENSE’s “Jargon Busting” workshop, we will be exploring the psychology of jargon, and working towards a more confident approach to it through hands-on editing and translation practice.

Time: 10:00–17:15 Doors open at 09:30 hours

Location: the Park Plaza Hotel, Westplein 50, Utrecht (five minutes’ walk from Utrecht Central Station).

Cost:  €150 including lunch, refreshments and materials.

Workshop material will come from the world of finance and business, but you can also contribute material from other specialist fields.

 The workshop leader is Carla Bakkum, who has been working as a freelance translator, editor and copywriter and specialises in finance, business and corporate communications since 1984.
