Learn Excel
Excel is a spreadsheet program which is handy for not only bookkeeping purposes but also terminology management. At the recent SENSE workshop on Keeping Your Books, a clear need for a hands-on introduction to Excel was expressed.
We will dive right in and get you started using Excel. You will:
- identify your needs;
- access built-in templates and adapt these to your needs;
- create, complete and save new worksheets;
- format cells and worksheets, including placement of title, date and other information in a header and making column headers visible on subsequent pages;
- work with formulas and Excel to automate bookkeeping tasks for quarterly VAT and annual tax returns;
- format data for import into other applications (e.g., other Excel files, Word files, a terminology program such as Trados); and
- learn how to print a worksheet.
